1. How we use your information
This privacy notice tells you what to expect when Software Acumen collects personal information. It applies to information we collect about:

2. Visitors to our websites
This privacy notice only applies to the website on which it appears. It does not apply to any websites that are linked to from this site.
We use cookies on our website. We will ask you to consent to our use of cookies when you first visit our websites. A full copy of our cookie policy can be found here.
We may process data about your usage of our websites. This data may include your IP address, geographical location, browser type and version, operating system, referral source, length of visit, page views and website navigation paths, as well as information about the timing, frequency and pattern of your visits. The legal basis for processing this data is our legitimate interests. We use this data for monitoring and improving our websites.
We use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect this data. You can read more about the Google Analytics security and privacy principles here. We do not share this data with any other third parties. This data is processed at an aggregate level and no attempt is made to identify any personal data. Any individual data held by Google Analytics will be retained for 26 months from the date of the last interaction.
3. Subscribers to our mailing lists
We may process information that you provide to us for the purpose of subscribing to our mailing lists. The data we process includes your name, your email address, and your interest in the event that the mailing list is for. The legal basis for processing this data is consent which you provide through a double opt-in. We will use this data to send you information about the event, e.g. keynote and programme announcements, mailing list discount offers. From time to time we may also use this data to send you offers from event partners.
We use third party provider (MailChimp) to manage this data and to deliver our marketing emails. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our communications. For more information see MailChimp’s privacy notice. We do not share this data with any other third parties. We will retain this data for as long as needed to accurately manage our mailing lists.
4. People who register to attend one of our events
We may process data that you provide to us as part of the registration for our events. This data may include your name, email address, telephone number, company, address, payment details and other information required for provision of your place at the event. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract between you and us, and our legitimate interest. We will use this data in order to provide a place for you at the event and to provide a safe and enjoyable event. You can see the full terms and conditions for purchasing a ticket to the event here.
We use a third party, Eventbrite, to manage our event bookings. You can find a copy of their privacy policy here. We hold this data for 12 months from the date of the event.
We share only names and company affiliations of event participants with event sponsors, unless you request for us not to do this by contacting us at the details in Section 7. As part of the registration process you will be asked to tick a box if you consent to receiving marketing communications from us and/or Event Sponsors. Names, companies and email addresses are shared with Event Sponsors where this consent is given. Where consent is given for us to send marketing communications, your data will be processed after the event in accordance with section 3 above.
5. Access
In summary, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides you with the following rights:

- The right to restrict processing
- The right to data portability
- The right to object
- Rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling
We will give an individual access to any personal information we hold about them within 30 days of any request for that information. Individuals may request to access, correct, amend or delete information by contacting us at the details in Section 7. Unless it is prohibited by law, we will remove any personal information about an individual at their request. There is no charge for an individual to access or update their personal information.

This policy was last updated on 15th April 2021.
We may update this policy from time to time by publishing a new version on our website. You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with the most current version of this policy.
